Building an MVP for a Workflow-Automation SaaS Product
The challenge
The founding team had validated the problem through customer interviews but had no engineering team of their own and a hard deadline to demo a working product to pilot customers ahead of their Series A round. Scope needed to be tight enough to ship in the available window without compromising the core workflow the pilot customers cared about.
Our approach
We scoped the MVP down to a single end-to-end workflow — job creation, assignment, and status tracking — and built it as a multi-tenant web application with a role-based permissions model that could support future account types without a rebuild. Architecture decisions favored a boring, well-supported stack to keep the pilot stable under real usage rather than optimizing for features beyond the demo scope.
- Delivered a working multi-tenant MVP in 10 weeks
- All 5 pilot customers completed onboarding without a blocking bug
- Pilot usage data directly informed the product roadmap presented in the Series A round
