A Cohort-Based Learning Platform for an Edtech Company
The challenge
The company was running live cohort courses using a patchwork of a video conferencing tool, a spreadsheet for attendance, and a separate platform for pre-recorded content, which made it hard to track learner progress or run multiple cohorts at once without operational overhead. They needed a single platform before their next intake to scale beyond two concurrent cohorts.
Our approach
We built a platform combining scheduled live sessions, recorded content, and assignment submission into one learner dashboard, with an instructor-facing view for tracking attendance and grading across multiple concurrent cohorts. Integration with their existing video provider avoided rebuilding video infrastructure from scratch.
Outcomes
Start a project- Enabled the company to run 5 concurrent cohorts at launch, up from 2
- Reduced instructor administrative time per cohort by roughly 6 hours/week
- Course completion rate improved by 17% versus the prior patchwork setup
